In this interview, Stefano Milano, IT Manager of Rotolito Group, explains how Rotolito group is able to completely control all six plants remotely and how the data collection of the various plants allows precise programming of the works and a significant reduction of waste and non-productive times, all to maximize the production process, thanks to the Logica system.

Thanks to Data Production, the Rotolito group automated completely the entire production process.

To achieve this goal, a software customization path was carried out to better integrate it into the company, in order to fully exploit its potential. A tailoring process was started, with the customization of Data Production that allowed the connection of all the different plants present in the various production sites (about 40 machines, including K&B, Muller Martini, Timson, Hp etc.) with Rotolito’s MIS in order to have a total data collection.

Another important aspect is that Data Production manages to communicate and interact with any type of MIS.

The resulting advantages are many such as the fact of not forcing the customer to have to change the management system to interface with Logica software, but offers maximum flexibility and maximum integration.

With Coronavirus our work routine has been turned upside down, the new rules of distance and protection of workers’ health impose new solutions to work in the company: smartworking, reduction of travel from one’s office, drastic reduction of close communications, etc.

In all of this, Data Production helps us by allowing us to remotely control the production plants, have all the information synchronized throughout the company. This means that we no longer have to waste time moving between office and production (facilitating social distancing) and we can identificate and control the entire production chain in order to maximize production by reducing waste and increasing profits (an aspect of fundamental importance given the current economic situation).
